Emily Deschanel Welcomes First Child

EMILY Deschanel has become a mother for the first time.

The Bones actress — who is married to writer-and-actor David Hornsby — gave birth to a baby boy yesterday and has named the tot Henry.

Following the news of Henry’s arrival, Emily’s Bones costar TJ Thyne took to twitter to congratulate her, saying, “CONGRATULATIONS EMILY D!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay yay yay!!! ) (sic)”

Before the tot arrived, Emily, 34, admitted she was loving being pregnant because she was in awe of the power of her body.

“I really like being pregnant,” she said. “Not that there aren’t things I don’t love, but when I think about what my body is doing – creating a child – it just blows my mind. I’m in awe of the process and science. And seeing my belly move is pretty amazing; it’s like in the movie ‘Alien’. I knew about the kicks, but I never expected somersaults.

“Besides meeting the baby … I look forward to that bond, the love that people say is stronger than you can imagine. Also, I think getting to see everything fresh, through a child’s eyes, is a wonderful thing. And the milestones, just getting to know who this child is.”
